National Lockdown Update

Dear Parents/ Carers,
Happy new year to you all.
Following last night’s statement from the Prime Minister, Douglas Valley Nursery School is currently planning to open as detailed last term for existing children and new starters.
However, the position of maintained nurseries is not clear and we are waiting for further guidance from the government and local authority, so this may change at short notice in the next few days.
Thank you for bearing with us, however we only received the information at 8.00pm last night as you did.
In preparation for the possibility that school is open for vulnerable and critical workers’ children only, please look at the definition of a critical worker below . If you believe your child would be eligible for a critical worker place, please email enquiries@admin.douglasvalley.wigan.sch.uk stating your child’s name, parents’ name(s) and job roles.
Thank you for your support and cooperation. We will keep you updated as soon as we receive any further information.
Please also keep an eye of our Facebook page and the school website for the latest information.
In line with our latest COVID risk assessment we are asking all parents/carers wear a face covering when they come onto the school site, except those who are exempt, including when you are dropping off and collecting your child.
Thank you for your co-operation.
Best wishes,
Catherine Ardern
Headteacher
